Surrender of an Animal
Surrenders are done by appointment only - please call 336.751.0227 to schedule your appointment. You will need to bring a valid driver’s license with a Davie County address, vet records and other proof of ownership. Appointments may be two to four weeks out, depending on the capacity of the shelter. 
 
​After contact with the shelter you will be given the next available date to surrender your animal. If there is more than one animal, we will try to give you a single date, depending on availability. For more information about animal surrender, click HERE. 


​10 Day Bite Quarantine 
There is a mandatory 10 day quarantine for any animal that bites a human.  Or wild animal/domestic pet exposure. 

Animal Boarding
Duration varies • $10.00 Per day
After 72 hours, the shelter will charge a per day boarding fee that must be paid upon reclaim.

​Animal Traps
Duration varies • No charge
Traps for feral cats and stray dogs are available.  Due to the high demand, we run a waiting list for these services.  During peak seasons, the wait for a trap can be as long as 5 weeks.

Rabies Vaccinations
Rabies vaccines are available at the shelter for dogs and cats over 13 weeks of age for $5.00. (cash only).

Spay and Neuter:
A low cost spay neuter clinic is run by the Humane Society of Davie County.
