Sheriff JD Hartman
Law Enforcement has been and continues to be my passion for over 30 years. My passion for law enforcement began in 1991 with Basic Law Enforcement Training. Initially, my service began as a Campus Police Officer at Wake Forest University. There I held several different positions during my tenure. Seeking a move to Davie County, I was employed at Mocksville PD in 1997 for one year. Following my time at Mocksville PD, I was recruited to the Davie County Sheriff’s Office, where I proudly continue to serve the citizens of Davie County.
Throughout the last 25+ years, I have served in a variety of positions at the Sheriff’s Office, including ten years as Chief Deputy, and now as Sheriff. My wife, Robin, and I are blessed with two wonderful children, Madelyn and Jackson, and one adored granddaughter, Clara. Madelyn is a practicing Dentist, and Jackson is a Deputy Sheriff working in a nearby county. Our family attends Green Meadows Baptist Church. As firm believers in serving and giving back to our Davie County community, Robin and I enthusiastically support and serve as board members for multiple local non-profit agencies. I am a proud founding member of the Dragonfly House Child Advocacy Center. I have served two terms on the Board of Directors and held the post of President, Vice President and Treasurer for that phenomenal organization. I have also served on the Advisory Board for Davie Domestic Violence and the Child Fatality Team for Davie County. I served on the Farmington Community Center Board of Directors for numerous years, and held the position of President for five years. I am a current member of the Farmington Ruritans. Further, I serve on the Board of Directors for the Advocacy Center, and I am a Mocksville Rotary Club member. I am also an active member of the NC Sheriff’s Association, and I serve on three committees within that association. If you are new to Davie County, welcome. You have truly found the best place to live in North Carolina. If I or any of my staff may be of service to you, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you, JD Hartman Davie County Sheriff |
