What We Do
The primary job of the Davie County Sheriff’s Office Civil Division is to serve civil process, provide fingerprinting services, provide firearm and concealed carry weapon permits and to provide various other permits within the county.

How do I take out a Civil Process?
You may visit the Clerk of Court’s office located in the Davie County Courthouse, 140 South Main St., Mocksville, NC 27028.

Concealed Carry Weapon Permit Information
To obtain a concealed handgun permit:
The ORIGINAL certificate of firearms training.
A COPY of your DD-214 if you were in the military.
Permit fee (EXACT CASH ONLY, no checks)
Application and Release Order (Completed and Notarized)
- Complete all information on the application, release order, and list of addresses.
- Sign and notarize application and release order. (Address list does not need to be notarized.)
- Schedule an appointment by calling Lt. D. Cooper at 336-936-2943 or Sgt. J. Robertson at 336-936-2944.
- Bring the following items to your appointment with you:

How do I get fingerprinted?
Fingerprinting Services are done by appointment only. You must bring a valid NC license and $10.00 (cash only).

Can I get my fingerprints done if I have identification from another state?
Yes. You must have a valid Government Issued ID or Passport.
Can a minor obtain fingerprints?
Yes, if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and with proper photo identification.

Only cash is accepted and the correct amount is appreciated.
How long is the Firearms safety certificate valid?
Currently there is no expiration on the certificate per the SBI.
Do I get to keep my original Firearms Safety Certificate?
No. The original is submitted with your application and is maintained on file.
When is it time for me to renew my carry concealed weapon permit? Do I have to provide another Firearms Safety Certificate?
If you reapply no more than 90 days prior to the expiration date of your permit, the Sheriff will waive a new Firearms Safety Certificate. Failure to reapply on time will result in the processing of a new permit.
Will the Sheriff`s Office notify me when it is time to renew my CCW permit?
The Sheriff’s Office will send you a reminder letter of renewal. It ultimately is the permit holder’s responsibility to comply with renewal regulations.
Once I purchase a weapon, do I have to register the gun with the Sheriff`s Office?
No, there is no gun registration in North Carolina.
