Reserve Officer Program
The Davie County Sheriff's Office Reserve program is composed of law
enforcement personnel who supplement the on-street deputies in every
division of the Sheriff’s Office. All Reserve Officers complete the same
mandatory training each year as our full-time Deputies. A Reserve Deputy
is a sworn officer with all the responsibilities and authority of any
other deputy. Our primary function is to assist in manpower when and
where needed in support of the Sheriff’s Office mission. Although our
primary function is to aid the Patrol Division we often provide support
to other divisions within the agency.
Application Process
The Reserve Program is a sworn position. As a result, applicants must
complete a state sanctioned course in Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET)
prior to applying. Applicants are also required to successfully complete
pre-hire physical fitness and POPAT assessment. Most community colleges
in our area have BLET programs. Day classes usually run 8am-5pm,
Monday-Friday and last approximately 3 months. Evening classes usually
run from 6pm-10pm and last approximately 6 months.
We suggest contacting our office and starting the application process
before you start class. If you are interested or if you are already BLET
certified please contact Captain Stuart Parker at 336-936-2950
