Lt. Palmer responded to Cartner's store on Hwy 64 West to a report of a counterfeit bill that had been passed to the clerk. Upon arrival Lt. Palmer spoke with the reporting person, Sarah Grubb, who stated that on Friday 08/20/2010 at about 3:00 pm a short female with blonde hair paid her with the bill. At the time Sarah marked the bill with the pen to check validity and it appeared to be valid so she took the $100.00 bill. The owner of Cartner's at a later time saw the bill and advised her it was fake. Sarah then called to make the report the Davie County Sheriff's Office. Sarah was able to provide a plate number for the suspect's vehicle. Lt. Palmer was able to get suspect information from the plate and possible video footage from the store. Further investigation is to follow.
