On August 12, 2010, Dale Eastling of Davie Log and Timber reported that two batteries from their tractor trailer truck had been stolen. Lt. B Jacobs took the report and investigated the incidenct. Lt. Jacobs went to Pilgrims Recycling in Mocksville and learned the Farren Hudson and Mark Beaver had been there on an earlier date and attempted to sale scrap metal. At the time of this investigation Lt. Whitesides had these suspects under arrest for Breaking and Entering at Gentle Machine on US Hwy 601 N. Lt. Jacobs interviewed the suspects where both confessed taking the batteries. They were charged with the larceny from Davie Log and Timber. Lt. Jacobs was able to recover the batteries and return them to the victim county commissioner Chris Anderson.
Both suspects were charged with Breaking and Entering and Larceny after Breaking and Entering of Gentle Machine on 08/07/2010. Both were also charged with the attempted larceny at Gentle Machine on 08/11/2010. Farren Hudson was also charged with Possession of Burglary Tools, and Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. Both suspects were given $5000.00 bonds.
A warrant from Yadkin County was also served on Farren Hudson for Felony Larceny he was placed on a $500.00 bond for that charge.
