On July 29, 2010 at 0124 am deputies with the Davie County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to 687 Riverview Road Mocksville to a residential breaking and entering in progress. Lt. T.B. Grubb, Sgt. Mathis and Deputy J. Crotts arrived to find suspect Christopher Allen Howell of 227 Deadmon Road Mocksville had broken into the residence. Howell was immediately placed under arrest for breaking and entering and damage to property.
Howell had returned to the residence after being asked to leave by Charles Andrew Stanaland of the address earlier in the day after an argument. Howell had entered through the garage and attempted to gain entrance through the entry door to confront Stanaland. Howell gained access after kicking in the door. Guests at the residence in an attempt to calm Howell advised him Stanaland was in the basement of the residence. Howell pursued and the guests locked the door behind him. Howell after realizing Stanaland was not in the basement regained entry to the residence by kicking in the interior door damaging the door casing.
After placing Howell under arrest deputies spoke with victim, Steven Jastrow of 227 Deadmon Rd, and victim, Michael Beaver of 154 Calvin Ln who stated that while Howell was entering the residence they had both been assaulted. Deputies then spoke with resident Charles Stanaland who advised that Howell told him, " He would kill him!"
Howell was placed under a $3,000.00 bond, set by Magistrate E. Dreschler charged with 1 count of breaking and entering, 2 counts of damage to property, 2 counts of simple assault, and 1 count of communicating threats. Howell is also out of prison on parole.
While Speaking with several guests at the residence an odor consistent with alcohol was detected. The deputies also noticed multiple open and cold beer cans in and around the residence. Sgt. Mathis and Deputy Crotts checked IDs to find everyone under the legal drinking age. Deputy Crotts completed Alco-Sensor breath tests on all subjects. After completion four of the guests had been drinking.
Kendell Nicole Lambert,18, of 215 Cana Rd
Shannon Nicole Triplett, 18, of 843 Howardtown Rd
Mark Anthony Hudson, 18, of 155 Brockland Dr
Steven Keith Jastrow, 17, of 227 Deadmon Rd
Sgt. Mathis issued citations to those who had been drinking. All parents/guardians of the underage were contacted.
After gaining consent deputies searched the residence for any other occupants. Deputy Crotts searched the downstairs area where he detected a strong odor of marijuana. Upon entering the pool room area in plain sight Deputy Crotts found evidence of marijuana use including paraphernalia, smoking devices, and marijuana residue. Deputies confronted Stanaland who denied ownership and advised his half brother Gary Ralph Lebarron occupied the room. Deputies questioned Lebarron who confirmed he occupied the room but denied ownership of the drugs or paraphernalia.
Deputies were asked to check the vehicle of a guest for illegal contraband by guardians before taking the vehicle to their residence. Deputies located in plain view of the back seat a large ziplock bag containing marijuana. Further search yielded a smoking device for marijuana in the center console of the vehicle. Further investigation concluded the owner of the vehicle was not the owner of the marijuana or the paraphernalia. Deputies found out that the owner had left her keys in the vehicle and Gary Lebarron had used the vehicle without permission and driven to his girlfriend, Shannon Triplett's, house. Triplett's house is located at 843 Howardtown Rd there Lebarron picked up the marijuana. Triplett later arrived at the incident location in her vehicle.
Deputies interviewed Triplett and questioned her about the drugs. She admitted to using the smoking device and knowledge of the drugs inside the vehicle. Due to the number of statements it was determined the drugs belonged to Triplett and she was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Gary Lebarron was arrested for possession of marijuana and the possession of drug paraphernalia.
Charles Andrew Stanaland was also arrested for the possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
